As the organisation continues to grow, they are now looking for a capable, motivated and hands‑on Deputy Head of Curriculum to support the day‑to‑day leadership of delivery, quality assurance, curriculum development and team performance.

As Deputy Head of Curriculum, you will work closely with the Head of Curriculum to support both the operational and strategic development of apprenticeship delivery.
The role will involve a blend of leadership, quality assurance, curriculum improvement and direct delivery. You will provide day‑to‑day line management and support to Assessors and IQAs, helping to ensure learners receive a consistently high‑quality experience from enrolment through to End‑Point Assessment. This is very much a hands‑on leadership role. You will be someone who is happy to support delivery where needed, model best practice, coach colleagues and help embed strong systems, processes and standards across the team.

You will support the Head of Curriculum in the design, review and continuous improvement of apprenticeship programmes, ensuring they are well‑sequenced, purposeful and aligned to employer needs, learner development and regulatory expectations. A key focus of the role will be supporting curriculum review and improvement, particularly in response to apprenticeship reforms and the evolving expectations of the sector. You will help ensure curriculum intent, implementation and impact are clear, meaningful and embedded within delivery practice.
Responsibilities- Support the Head of Curriculum with the development, review and improvement of apprenticeship programmes
- Help ensure curriculum planning reflects strong intent, effective sequencing and positive learner impact
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership and support to Assessors and IQAs
- Monitor learner progress, caseload activity, timely completions and performance against agreed expectation
- Support staff through coaching, feedback, 1:1s, standardisation and development planning
- Contribute to the development and use of meaningful KPIs across delivery and quality activity
- Support internal quality assurance processes, including sampling, feedback, standardisation and audit readiness
- Help prepare for external scrutiny, including Ofsted, awarding organisation and funding compliance activity
- Contribute to SAR and QIP activity, helping identify strengths and areas for improvement
- Support curriculum reform activity and ensure delivery remains current, compliant and effective
- Deliver teaching, coaching and assessment to a small learner caseload where required
- Support learners with progress reviews, workplace observations and End‑Point Assessment preparation
- Model high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and professional practice
- Support the effective use of systems, processes and e‑portfolio platforms
- Build positive relationships with employers, learners and colleagues
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement

Required qualifications- Assessor qualification, such as CAVA or equivalent
- Internal Quality Assurance qualification, such as IQA, TAQA Level 4 or equivalent
- AET Level 3 or recognised teaching qualification
- Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes
- Experience of internal quality assurance processes
- Experience supporting, mentoring or line managing staff
- Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards, learner progress and End‑Point Assessment
- Good knowledge of funding rules, compliance requirements and Ofsted expectations
- Ability to monitor performance, learner progress and quality indicators
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence using systems to track progress and support quality improvement
- A flexible, hands‑on and solutions‑focused approach
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspection activity
- Experience contributing to SAR and QIP processes
- Experience using Aptem or a similar e‑portfolio system
- Occupational competence in healthcare, adult care, clinical support or a related sector
- Experience leading standardisation meetings or quality improvement projects
- Experience supporting curriculum design, sequencing or apprenticeship reform activity
