We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Site Manager to join a friendly primary school in Sutton on a full-time basis. This is an ASAP start position and would suit someone proactive, hands-on and confident managing the daily upkeep, safety and security of a busy school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school premises are safe, clean, secure and well-maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.
Hours
Monday to Friday 7:00am – 11:00am and 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Responsibilities
- Opening and locking the school premises daily
- Carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs
- Ensuring the school site is clean, safe and secure at all times
- Monitoring health and safety across the premises
- Managing contractors and overseeing site-related works
- Conducting regular site checks and reporting issues promptly
- Supporting with deliveries, furniture movement and room setups
- Maintaining outdoor areas including playgrounds and entrances
- Responding to emergency maintenance issues where required
Requirements
- Previous site management or caretaker experience within a school or similar environment
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Good DIY and maintenance skills
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Ability to start ASAP
