School Administrator – SEN School

Location: Ealing, West London

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch break)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Our client, a specialist SEN school in the London Borough of Ealing, is seeking an experienced and professional School Administrator to join their team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This is a pivotal role within the school, supporting both leadership and teaching staff while contributing to the smooth day‑to‑day operation of a busy SEN environment.

The successful candidate will be part of a friendly and dedicated team, working in a welcoming and inclusive environment where staff and pupils thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, and wider staff team
  • Manage the school reception and act as the first point of contact for parents, carers, visitors, and external agencies
  • Maintain accurate and confidential pupil records
  • Use and maintain school management information systems (MIS) effectively (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom)
  • Support attendance monitoring, admissions, and pupil data management
  • Manage correspondence, emails, phone calls, and appointments
  • Support safeguarding and compliance administration in line with statutory requirements
  • Liaise with local authorities, external agencies, and service providers
  • Assist with the organisation of meetings, reviews, and school events
  • Contribute to the smooth daily running of a busy SEN school environment

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous experience in a school administration role
  • Experience using school management systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional, calm, and approachable manner
  • Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Desirable

  • Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working within a special educational needs setting
  • Knowledge of SEND processes and terminology
  • Experience supporting attendance, admissions, or safeguarding administration
