Initial Teacher Training Programme Leader and Lead Mentor (with Primary Specialism)

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can lead the Primary Programme for trainee teachers and support the Head of ITT with attracting and recruiting high-quality trainees.

Requirements:

  • QTS and at least 4 years’ teaching experience in a primary school across KS1 and KS2, with a strong understanding of the full primary phase, including transition from EYFS into KS1
  • In-depth knowledge of the evidence base behind effective primary teaching and experience of delivering the National Curriculum (including phonics, early reading, literacy and mathematics), alongside an understanding of the wider foundation curriculum
  • Expertise in primary assessment, including formative approaches and statutory assessments such as the Phonics Screening Check and SATs, as well as experience of supporting pupils with SEND
  • Experience of supporting trainee teachers in developing effective classroom practice, designing and delivering training, and working with and developing mentors
  • Experience of recruiting to and delivering Initial Teacher Training programmes, alongside quality assurance processes, compliance, and understanding Ofsted and DfE policy requirements

Key Details:

  • Salary: Starting salary of £40k with yearly increments up to £45k (plus bonus scheme)
  • Hours: Full time (37.5h), core hours 8:30am-4pm with very occasional evening and weekend work to attend events (with TOIL)
  • Workplace: Educate Group, Unit 5 Blackwood Business Park, Ash Rd S, Wrexham LL13 9UG with travel to schools
