Educare Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Children's Home Manager to lead a residential children's home in St Austell.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated manager with proven experience working with children and young people in residential care. We're looking for someone who can lead by example, inspire their team and create a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people feel valued, supported and able to thrive.
The Role
As Children's Home Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and support for every child.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the daily operations of the children's residential home.
- Leading, supervising and developing a team of residential care staff.
- Ensuring the safety, welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
- Promoting positive outcomes, emotional wellbeing and personal development.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and Ofsted standards.
- Developing and maintaining care plans, risk assessments and accurate records.
- Working closely with families, social workers, local authorities and other professionals.
- Creating a positive, supportive and child-centred environment.
- Managing staffing, rotas, team performance and quality standards.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience managing a children's residential home or a similar leadership role.
- A strong background working with children and young people.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Knowledge of children's residential care regulations and Ofsted requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to motivate a team and maintain high standards of care.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Relevant qualifications in residential childcare or leadership.
Applicants must meet the applicable regulatory and qualification requirements for the role. Experience as a Registered Manager and the relevant Level 5 qualification are highly desirable, subject to the home's registration requirements.
