Cleaner in Ware

Job Description

Work 15 hours per week (3 hours per day, Monday to Friday) with a minimum wage hourly rate.

Preferred shift options:

• Option A: 04:30 – 07:30 (Early Morning)
• Option B: 05:00 – 08:00 (Morning)
• Option C: 15:00 – 18:00 (Afternoon)

Key Responsibilities

• Clean allocated areas (classrooms, corridors, staff areas) to specified standards.
• Clean and replenish toilet areas, stocking soap, towels, and materials.
• Operate domestic and industrial cleaning equipment safely following full training.
• Store materials and equipment safely and securely.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and report any hazards.
• Dispose of waste and rubbish correctly.
• Undertake specialised deep-cleaning programmes during school closures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Punctual, reliable and flexible, with a strong sense of pride in work.
• Excellent teamwork, listening, and communication skills.
• Awareness of COSHH and Manual Handling guidelines (highly desirable).
• Strong understanding and alignment with the school’s ethos, vision, and values.
• Full UK driving licence or reliable independent transport.
• Commitment to safeguarding children, including willingness to obtain a Staff Certificate in Safeguarding (KCSIE).
