Job Description
We are seeking a caring, motivated and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant for Northgate Primary School.
The role is a fixed‑term position until July 2027, starting September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support for children with additional needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, parents and external professionals.
- Create an inclusive learning environment where children feel safe and valued.
- Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
- Follow professional advice consistently and contribute positively to the child’s progress.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Patient, nurturing and genuinely enjoys working with children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proactive, flexible and willing to learn.
- Strong behaviour management skills and ability to engage children positively in learning.
