Job Description:

  • Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
  • Maintain laboratories, preparation rooms and science equipment to a high standard.
  • Ensure chemicals and equipment are stored safely in accordance with current regulations.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and monitoring departmental resources.
  • Support teachers during practical activities where appropriate.
  • Undertake risk assessments and help ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including COSHH.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste safely and responsibly.
  • Assist with the development of practical resources and demonstrations.
  • Support enrichment activities, science clubs and events where required.
