Job Description:
- Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
- Maintain laboratories, preparation rooms and science equipment to a high standard.
- Ensure chemicals and equipment are stored safely in accordance with current regulations.
- Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Assist with stock control, ordering and monitoring departmental resources.
- Support teachers during practical activities where appropriate.
- Undertake risk assessments and help ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including COSHH.
- Dispose of laboratory waste safely and responsibly.
- Assist with the development of practical resources and demonstrations.
- Support enrichment activities, science clubs and events where required.
