23:59 9 th November 2026 Interviews will be held: 16 th December 2026. There will be a requirement for a video presentation available to School of Law colleagues in advance of the interview on a topic to be sent to those shortlisted. Full time permanent role. By reference to the applicable SOC code for this role, sponsorship may be possible under the Skilled Worker Route. The University of Reading School of Law wishes to appoint an outstanding Professor of International Economic Law, particularly in the field of Trade Law, to further enhance our global reputation for research power, leadership and impact in Public International Law and International Commercial Law.

We are seeking to appoint a candidate of internationally recognised research excellence who can provide research leadership and also contribute to teaching, administration and global engagement.

The School welcomes applicants with an outstanding record of research in International Economic Law. All relevant research specialisms will be considered although we are particularly looking for expertise in Trade Law. The University is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce.

You will have:

  • Internationally recognised expertise in International Economic Law (ideally Trade Law)
  • A body of excellent research outputs in International Economic Law (ideally Trade Law)
  • A track record of research funding applications and at least one successful application
  • Previous academic and administrative leadership experience at School or University level or equivalent
