Job Description

We offer an exciting opportunity to join the Star Governance team within a local school trust or academy.

The role involves working closely with senior leadership, trustees, central staff, schools and governors, and other stakeholders.

The primary focus is to support trust or school committees by providing efficient governance support and advice services that meet statutory and regulatory compliance requirements.

In doing so, trustees or governors are enabled to make effective decisions and provide key scrutiny to the trust or school operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing minutes, agendas and documentation for committee meetings.
  • Provide accurate, concise and timely written communication to trustees, governors and senior leadership.
  • Maintain governance records, ensuring all statutory and regulatory filings are completed on time.
  • Identify and track action items arising from meetings and follow up to secure completion.
  • Support the development and implementation of governance policies and procedures.
  • Act as a point of contact for external stakeholders when required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of school governance frameworks and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
