Doncaster Salary: £92. 63–£100 per day, paid weekly via PAYE Contract: Full-time, long-term Start Date: Immediate Start / ASAP

Looking for a role where communication changes lives? We're working with a specialist setting that supports deaf and hearing-impaired pupils, helping them to access education, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. They're seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deaf Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired pupils in lessons and throughout the school day
  • Assisting with communication using British Sign Language (BSL), Sign Supported English (SSE), or other communication strategies where required
  • Helping pupils access learning materials and classroom activities
  • Working closely with teachers, speech and language professionals, and specialist staff
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development
  • Promoting an inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive

Requirements

Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • BSL Qualification (Level 1, 2, 3 or above) highly desirable
  • Experience using British Sign Language in educational or support settings
  • Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired children and young people
  • Relevant qualifications in Education, SEND, Support Work, Health & Social Care, or related fields are welcomed
  • Candidates with lived experience within the deaf community are encouraged to apply
