We are looking to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated individual for the role of Caretaker. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out a range of duties, following procedures and practices, relating to the school buildings, grounds and site operation. You will be in charge of ensuring the school environment is maintained to a high standard and will aim to deliver a high quality of service. It is an essential part of your role to liaise with contractors, conduct risk assessments and adhere to health and safety regulations.
This post is a fixed‑term position until 31 August 2027, but may lead to a permanent role. It is part of a two‑form‑entry infant and nursery school that shares a site with a junior school and pre‑school. The post is for 15‑20 hours per week at Grade H4/H5 (depending on experience). The contract is for 52 weeks per year, with annual leave normally taken in school holidays. Working hours are flexible, with a split shift that requires opening the school at 7 am and closing at 6 pm. Cover of lettings may also be required, which is paid as extra hours.
The school achieved a “good” rating in the Ofsted inspection of March 2024.
Qualifications
