This is a unique opportunity for an experienced teacher to work with a flourishing multi-Academy Trust, renowned for its leadership development opportunities. The successful candidate will lead a class in our SEN Unit supporting children with significant special educational needs, mostly with a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), and lead a team of LSAs.

Start date: April or September

Main or Upper Pay Range, depending on experience and skills. The phase/year group’s additional responsibilities will depend on the interests and experience of the successful candidate.

Requirements:

  • Full time availability
  • A creative and flexible practitioner
  • A candidate that has high expectations of themselves and others, and is committed to maintaining our high standards
  • The ability to respond imaginatively to the challenges of curriculum delivery and development, within a dynamic SEN provision focused on meeting the individual needs of students
  • The ability to lead and direct a team of staff to ensure the needs of students are met effectively
  • Experience using or the willingness to learn to use the TEACCH approach, PECs and AAC, including Makaton
