About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with secondary school children, and possess strong communication skills. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and special education is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Develop and implement lesson plans across various subjects, which could be Maths or English tailored to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Support Students with SEN/SEMH: Provide individualised support to students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods and resources to promote their learning and well-being.
  • Apply Behaviour Management Strategies: Utilise proven behaviour management techniques to promote positive behaviours and create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Foster an Inclusive Learning Environment: Cultivate a learning space where all students feel safe, valued, and supported in their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with Parents and Colleagues: Communicate regularly with parents and team members to track student progress, share updates, and work together on strategies to support students’ development.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in Education: At least 1 year of teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting, with a focus on students with SEN and/or SEMH.
  • Special Educational Needs Experience: Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, including those with SEMH, and familiarity with relevant teaching approaches.
  • Behaviour Management: Proficiency in using behaviour management strategies to support positive student outcomes and maintain a productive learning environment.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with secondary school curricula and an understanding of how to adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: A genuine passion for inclusive education and the ability to foster a learning environment where all students can succeed, regardless of their background or challenges.

Additional Requirements:

  • Teaching Experience: Minimum 1 year of teaching experience.
  • Experience with SEN/SEMH Students: At least 1 year of experience working with children with special educational needs, including SEMH.
  • Safeguarding Commitment: A clear understanding of safeguarding procedures, with a strong commitment to the welfare of children and young people.
