We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support an EYFS class at a St Helens primary school. The role is a full-time position with the school seeking a candidate with previous experience of working with children of this age.
As a TA, responsibilities may include 1:1 support, small group work, and support in the wider classroom setting for pupils including those with additional learning needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about breaking barriers to learning for pupils and creating an inclusive and positive learning environment for all. The role is also open to those with transferable skills and experience of supporting young people in a similar setting, such as residential children’s homes.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with additional needs
- Implementing EHCP targets
- Promote positive behaviour
- Work closely with class teachers and other education professionals
- Assist with general school duties as required
- Adhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding
Essential requirements:
- At least 5 GCSE (grade C/4 or above), including Maths and English
- Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent
- Confident supporting young people with challenging behaviour and/or reluctant learners
- Ability to engage pupils with SEND
- Flexible and adaptable
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
- Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
