About the role: We are seeking a number of dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors/unqualified teachers to work in secondary schools across Wigan. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a positive impact on students’ education while gaining valuable experience in a school environment. As a cover supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment. This role is ideal for graduates, career changers or those considering a future in teaching.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise classes across all key stages (KS3 and 4) in the absence of subject teachers
- Deliver pre-planned lesson materials and ensure students remain on task
- Promote positive behaviour
- Support students with their learning
- Take accurate registers and report concerns to relevant staff
- Assist with general school duties as required
- Adhere to school policies and procedures
