Mobile Kitchen Assistant

Hours: 10 hours per week

Do you have a passion for customer service and an understanding of basic health and safety requirements? If so, this role is for you!

If successful, you will support the Catering Supervisor at schools across the Cheshire West and Cheshire area. You’ll represent both Edsential and our customers\’ schools to ensure pupils receive high-quality food and customer service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Assisting with food provision, including preparation, cooking, serving, portion control, and managing special diets, allergens, and intolerances (where advised).
• Preparing dining areas and service counters.
• Cleaning dining, kitchen, and staff facilities.
• Operating tills (where appropriate), following IT procedures, and undertaking relevant training.
• Following safe work systems, maintaining hygiene and safeguarding standards according to Edsential’s policies, The Code of Practice, and Food Safety Legislation to ensure a safe environment.
• Actively promoting the service to foster good relationships with customers, which may include catering outside contracted hours for events such as new intake days, parents\’ evenings, and hospitality functions.

What we require from you:

• Previous experience in a school kitchen is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• Ability to build relationships and foster a positive work environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy, customer-facing role.
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks.
• Flexibility to work across other Edsential units as needed.
