Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the delivery of high‑quality outdoor education activities at the centre, delivering at a technical level for some courses.
- Ensure the centre’s high quality and culture are maintained, induct customers, and ensure course aims are met.
- Develop and take responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment and facilities within your technical expertise.
- Serve as course director for schools staying with us, acting as their main point of contact to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Plan, coordinate, prepare and evaluate outdoor residential courses.
- Induct guests and assist in maintaining equipment and facilities, working closely with the outdoor team and adhering to risk‑management processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum a few years of experience working with children and young people in the outdoors.
- Demonstrated competence by holding national governing body awards in the activity categories provided (canoeing, kayaking, raft building, sailing, stand‑up paddleboarding, climbing, high‑level ropes, zipwire, bushcraft, mountain biking, via ferrata, gorge walking, coasteering, mining).
- For off‑site adventures, a minibus/trailer qualification (D1+E), up‑to‑date CPC and digital tachograph card.
- A calm, considered and professional approach to working with a diverse clientele who may require additional support or considerations.

Conway Centre, Anglesey, has been welcoming groups of young people for outdoor education and arts courses since 1969 and is now part of Edsential Residential.
It offers large grounds, woodland areas, access to the Menai Strait through a private dock, and proximity to the National Trust, the coast, mountains, rivers and lakes of Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey AONB.
