Hours : 29.6 Hours per week, Term Time - 42 Weeks per year
Are you passionate about Learning Outside the Classroom and keen to support schools in delivering exceptional educational experiences? Edsential is seeking a dedicated LOTC Advisor to join our team. With flexibility of up to four days a week across 42 weeks a year, this role presents an exciting opportunity to impact young learners across five Local Authorities and independent schools.

Job Purpose

Our motto is Enjoy, Engage, Enrich, Explore. As an LOtC Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in helping schools plan and deliver safe educational visits, addressing their Health and Safety responsibilities while championing best practice. You will foster a love of learning by providing first-hand experiences that enrich the curriculum and support the development of LOtC within educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to Head Teachers and Educational Visit Coordinators (EVCs) on risk management and statutory Health and Safety responsibilities.
  • Offer engaging CPD opportunities for youth professionals, delivering training for visit leaders and EVCs.
  • Delivery of high quality LOTC activity within both school and community settings.
  • Develop and implement innovative outdoor learning projects and programmes that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Actively promote LOtC services and support curriculum development to align with the current OFSTED framework.
  • Conduct routine monitoring and evaluation procedures to gauge the impact of LOtC initiatives in schools and the wider community.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant Degree and at least 2 other relevent qualifications, i.e IOSH/NEBOSH, QTS, L3 Forest SchoolPractitioner, Environmental Education, NGB, or significant experience deliveringto children and young people.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety guidelines for educational visits.
  • Member of one of the following OEAP, LOtC, IOL.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • A creative problem-solver with the ability to navigate the practical challenges of implementing LOtC activities.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with national guidance and best practices.
