Embrace Excellence

Brugal has an ambitious goal to become the #1 ultra‑premium rum by 2035. Central to this is elevating the 1888+ range, reducing reliance on core lines, and advancing premiumisation in key markets. The Marketing Manager will deliver the brand strategy, brand proposition and DNA, and use consumer insight and commercial proximity to markets to develop outstanding global assets. This role will lead and deliver the global marketing strategy, guiding all aspects of insight, building a breakthrough brand, and leading the marketing agenda to adopt a breakthrough brand approach and win ATL, BTL and across media, particularly digital and e‑commerce. The position will also direct innovation decisions on the brand, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, while overseeing activation and deployment. This individual will have line manager responsibility for one team member and will be a critical part of the Edrington marketing business ensuring Brugal BU is represented and integrated. Note: this is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global insight for 1888, using consumer, market, and brand equity data to shape growth plans, prioritise markets, guide investment, and drive premiumisation in core regions.
  • Build a culture of curiosity, steering the Brand team to place insight at the centre of strategic decision‑making and developing tools for test‑and‑learn activation.
  • Create and manage a global insight library, track brand health across priority markets, and translate research into compelling, influence‑driving presentations.
  • Develop breakthrough marketing, co‑creating bold market plans, inspiring adoption of 1888 strategies, and delivering high‑impact activations—especially in the USA and France.
  • Drive standout brand experiences, including PR, social (with influencers), CRM, digital ecosystems, and culturally resonant experiential activations.
  • Lead innovation strategy, shaping a premium and luxury pipeline, partnering with the Master Blender, and ensuring innovation aligns with brand DNA and commercial goals.
  • Execute prestige launches through exceptional paid, owned and earned plans that enhance Brugal’s ultra‑premium credentials.
  • Bring innovation to culture, creating partnerships and experiences that elevate brand perception and attract Status Expert consumers.
  • Lead and empower teams, developing talent, fostering collaboration across global markets, and ensuring high engagement and strong delivery.
