About Edra
Edra is solving one of the hardest problems in enterprise AI: AI models are generic but company processes are specific. We build AI agents that learn how processes actually run, and then run their operations. We're a Series A startup, backed by Sequoia and other leading VC firms, and we're growing our team in New York and London. We're a deeply technical team of engineers, AI researchers, and strategists with a high bar for talent and a shared belief that exceptional people are the foundation of everything great we'll build.
The Role
AI models are smart enough. What they don't have is an understanding of how a specific company’s business actually runs. The AI Strategist's job is to close that gap for Edra’s customers. You embed with a customer, learn how the work actually happens (not how the org chart says it happens), and find where Edra creates the most value. You scope the deployment, run it, measure it, and bring what you learn back to product and engineering, specific enough that they can build on it. The domain changes from one customer to the next—a service desk, a compliance team, a sales operation, a product org—and the role looks different at every customer deployment. This role is operational and it’s for builders. It is not account management, project management, or consulting. In a single day you might go from working with a customer's raw operational data, to prototyping with customer users, to a product prioritization debate with engineering, and you need to be credible in all three rooms.
What You'll Do
- Embed with the team that runs a core part of the customer's business, and learn how the work actually gets done, including the parts no process doc captures.
- Scope and run the deployment from the first data pull to a measured result.
- Decide what data goes in, what comes out, and what success looks like.
- Start narrow (one process, one team), prove value there, then expand.
- Manage relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Set expectations, and turn the most demanding executive in the room into your champion.
- Bring findings back to product and engineering in a form they can act on.
- Think product-forward about what Edra should build next, grounded in patterns you see in the field.
- Build and run demos, and present results and proposals to everyone from the analyst doing the work to the C-suite executive signing the contract.
- Spot the patterns across deployments that point to new domains Edra can move into.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years in a deployment, solutions, or customer-facing product role at a high-growth technology company.
- Fluency with AI. You already use these tools in your own work and have a feel for where they're strong and where they fall apart on messy, real-world inputs.
- You have experience operating independently in unstructured environments, and have owned outcomes, not just tasks.
- Dropped into an unfamiliar problem, your instinct is to ask questions and break it down before pitching a solution.
- You treat a skeptical operator's objections as rational, because they usually are, and you'd rather spend a day watching someone work than read their process doc.
- You're comfortable working directly with messy operational data, and you draw conclusions from it that hold up to scrutiny.
- You have product instinct. You can connect what you see in the field to what's worth building, and you know the difference between a one-off ask and a real pattern.
- You can hold a room. You turn an unrealistic executive demand into a workable plan without picking a fight, and you manage up and sideways in the same conversation.
- You communicate with precision. You structure your thinking, choose concrete words over abstractions, and are upfront when you don't know something.
Don't check every box? We'd still love to hear from you. We're looking for exceptional people with unique skills and interests, and we know that great people have different backgrounds and skillsets.
Bonus Points
- Time spent inside the systems where operational work lives: Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Jira, or similar.
- You've worked somewhere deployment and product thinking were the same job.
- Comfort with Python, SQL, or similar for working with data directly.
- You've helped build a new category, not just added features to an existing one.
