Role Description
The External Account Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Durham, focused on managing and developing relationships with existing and new trade customers.
Day-to-day responsibilities include visiting customer premises and sites, identifying sales opportunities, promoting products and services, and providing informed advice tailored to customer projects and requirements.
The role involves preparing quotations, negotiating prices and terms within company guidelines, and ensuring orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.
The External Account Manager will collaborate closely with internal branch teams to coordinate stock, logistics, and customer support, while monitoring account performance and addressing service or delivery issues promptly.
This position requires proactive business development in the local area, participation in supplier promotions, and regular reporting on market activity and customer feedback.
Qualifications
- Strong account management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to maintain and grow a portfolio of trade customers.
