What You’ll Be Doing:
- Your Impact: This role is about much more than just supervising—it's about ensuring the child feels cared for and has a happy, constructive break.
- Eating Champion: Create a positive atmosphere by assisting the child with food (opening packets, cutting items) and encouraging good table manners and healthy eating. Ensure the dining area is ready for service and safely maintained (setting up, clearing spills, wiping down tables).
- Playground & Safety Leader: Actively supervise the pupil in the playground, promoting safe and inclusive games and supporting organised play activities. Resolve minor conflicts with patience and fairness, reporting serious incidents promptly. Manage indoor/wet play activities when weather requires it.
- Welfare & Care: Act as the first point of contact for minor injuries, referring to a first aider if needed. Actively monitor the child with specific dietary needs to ensure their safety. Maintain continuous vigilance to ensure all the child remains safe within the school's designated premises.
What We're Looking For:
- A genuine love for working with children and ability to supervise and engage large groups effectively.
- Exceptional patience, a calm demeanour under pressure, and a positive approach to behaviour management.
- Previous SEND experience would be preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- A reliable team player who can follow instructions and use initiative.
Why Join Our School?
- Valuable Training: You will receive full training in Safeguarding and Child Protection. Full DBS clearance is required for this position (we will assist with processing this).
- The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants must be prepared to undergo a number of checks to confirm their suitability to work with children and young people.

- This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list.
- If you have information to declare it may be protected under the Exceptions Orders and you may not be required to declare it. You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post.
