This role is built for people who already understand sales environments and are comfortable working to targets, KPIs and phone-based performance. It is not an office-only recruitment role. You will be out meeting candidates, visiting sites and spending time with clients, learning the construction market properly and building relationships face to face as well as over the phone.
The Business
This is an established construction recruitment business with multiple offices across the UK and a strong London head office. The company supplies labour and professionals into live construction projects across London and nationally, working with long-standing clients and repeat business. Senior consultants manage significant accounts and maintain closer relationships with site teams and decision-makers. Many of the current senior consultants started in junior or trainee roles, learned the market from the ground up and progressed into account ownership and leadership positions. This hire is being made to support workload across key client accounts and develop the next layer of consultants within the business.
The Role
You will join as a trainee recruitment consultant, working alongside experienced consultants on active, revenue-generating accounts. This is a hands-on, commercial role combining phone-based sales activity with regular site and client exposure. Your responsibilities will include:
- High-volume outbound candidate engagement
- Managing candidate pipelines against live roles
- Working to daily and weekly activity targets
- Supporting delivery across active construction sites
- Attending candidate meetings and inductions
- Visiting client sites and spending time with site managers
- Learning how to manage client requirements and workforce planning
- Gradually taking ownership of roles and accounts as capability is proven
You will be encouraged to get out of the office to understand the environment you are recruiting for. Site exposure is a key part of developing credibility and progressing within the business.
Who This Is For
This role is suitable for individuals who already have sales experience, including:
- Graduates with proven sales or target-driven experience
- Non-graduates from sales, estate agency or phone-based roles
- Candidates comfortable working to KPIs and performance metrics
- People confident on the phone and in face-to-face conversations
- Individuals looking to build a long-term career in recruitment
Sales experience is essential. Academic background is not the deciding factor.
Reward and Progression
Basic salary circa £25,000 - £28,000 DOE. Discretionary bonus structure in the early stages. Progression into commission-based earnings as responsibility increases. Clear pathway into consultant and senior consultant roles. Strong long-term earning potential for high performers. Support and mentoring from experienced consultants. This is an opportunity for people who want exposure, responsibility and progression, not a short-term role.
