As part of its expanding portfolio, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major demolition project in Aberdeen city centre.

This flagship scheme forms part of a wider redevelopment programme and will require exceptional planning, stakeholder management and operational leadership. The successful candidate will join a highly regarded contractor with a proven track record of delivering complex projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of this significant demolition project from commencement through to completion. Operating within a busy city centre environment, you will ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme and in line with all environmental and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading all aspects of project delivery from pre-construction planning through to completion
  • Managing site teams, subcontractors and specialist demolition contractors
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes and key milestones
  • Ensuring strict compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Coordinating with local authorities, utilities, consultants and key stakeholders
  • Managing project budgets, reporting and commercial performance
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks
  • Ensuring all demolition works are executed safely and efficiently within a live urban environment
  • Producing regular progress reports for senior management and clients

About You

We are keen to speak with experienced Project Managers who have successfully delivered complex construction, demolition, infrastructure or enabling works projects. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale demolition, enabling works or major construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Experience working within challenging city centre or live operational environments
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery
  • SMSTS, CSCS and relevant construction qualifications

Previous experience delivering demolition projects involving complex logistics, stakeholder engagement and phased programmes would be highly advantageous.
