I’m currently working on behalf of a highly respected and growing construction contractor who is looking to appoint an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Glasgow. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who wants more than just another job. The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be heavily involved in the financial and contractual management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial performance of construction projects
- Producing monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations
- Ensuring valuations are maximised and payments received on time
- Monitoring site progress and issuing contractual notices where required
- Preparing and managing cost and value forecasts
- Managing subcontractor accounts and commercial relationships
- Negotiating and agreeing variations throughout projects
- Assisting with tendering and estimating activities
- Procuring competitive quotations and ensuring specification compliance
- Working closely with operational teams, clients and consultants
- Supporting project delivery to ensure programmes and budgets are achieved
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and quality procedures
What My Client Is Looking For
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying position within construction
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation ability
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong analytical and organisational capabilities
- Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
- Full UK driving licence
