A leading North East construction contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its growing operational team following the award of a number of significant projects across the region. With an exceptional reputation for delivering high-quality developments and a strong pipeline of secured work, this well-established contractor continues to invest in its people and projects. As a result, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a residential housing development in Stonehaven.

This role offers the chance to take ownership of a flagship project while working for a business renowned for its commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring the development is delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams while maintaining excellent communication with all stakeholders throughout the construction process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all on-site activities from groundworks through to project completion
  • Supervising subcontractors and ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently
  • Driving programme performance and achieving key project milestones
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of quality and workmanship
  • Conducting regular health & safety inspections and ensuring full site compliance
  • Coordinating labour, materials and plant requirements
  • Managing site documentation, progress reporting and quality records
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and senior management teams
  • Promoting a positive, professional and productive working environment on site

About You

We are keen to speak with experienced Site Managers who have a successful track record delivering residential developments within a main contracting or housebuilding environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience managing housing developments from construction through to handover
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent understanding of construction methodologies and site operations
  • A proactive approach to programme management and problem-solving
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice
  • Ability to build positive relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications

Experience delivering private housing, affordable housing or mixed-tenure developments would be highly desirable.
