The position is with a leading EDM design, manufacture and installation specialist based in Manchester. The company has an excellent reputation and state‑of‑the‑art facilities, delivering bespoke projects across a diverse client base.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be a key player in recruitment, including drafting job descriptions, creating adverts, liaising with agencies, conducting interviews and onboarding new candidates.
- Draft all letters or contracts for new starters and changes to employee T&Cs.
- Act as a point of contact for the administrator on queries regarding new starter documents, references and right‑to‑work checks.
- Support the HR Manager with new starter checks relating to Security Clearance.
- Provide support to the HR & Office Administrator on queries involving holiday, sickness or absence forms.
- Assist day‑to‑day support: responding to references, conducting exit interviews, organising social events, travel bookings, visa applications, etc.
- Liaise with the company’s Occupational Health provider to organise health surveillance for employees and assist the HR Manager with OH referrals.
- Attend disciplinary or absence trigger meetings and act as a note‑taker.
- Assist in creating employee relations letters and in the introduction or modification of policies.
- Take responsibility for HR MI data and reporting, including a monthly board report, flexible‑working statistics, overtime and clocking reports.
Key Requirements
- Ideally qualified at CIPD Level 3 or 5.
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role with a wide variety of responsibilities.
- Pro‑active approach and confidence to handle and resolve urgent issues.
- Articulate communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to liaise confidently and effectively with all levels of the business.
- Ability to take ownership of day‑to‑day activities across the team and support management as needed.
- High level of attention to detail and keen eye for precision.
- Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Word.
- Proven track record of meeting challenging deadlines.
- Adaptability to work under changing conditions and meet tight deadlines.
- Team player with initiative and ability to work independently.
