The Broad Horizons Education Trust are seeking a warm, nurturing and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our SEMH Specialist Resource Base at Edith Cavell Academy and Nursery; a school where the ethos is ‘Happy Children Achieve.’
Our SEMH base offers placements for children who have social, emotional and mental health needs. The purpose of the placement is to identify barriers to learning, therapeutic needs of the individual and how these can be supported in the pupil’s mainstream environment. We aim to support the child to reintegrate back into their mainstream school setting.
The successful applicant will work closely with Lead teachers, other SRB support staff and professionals in the programme’s central team to provide bespoke education and support for the pupils. We are looking for someone who is able to contribute to a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the setting.
Personal qualities are of paramount importance. The individual appointed will be expected to display patience, enthusiasm, energy, good humour, flexibility and reliability. You should also have the ability to work independently and also as part of a busy team.
