The Edinburgh Woollen Mill is delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Allocator to join our dynamic Merchandising team, based at our Head Office in Carlisle. This pivotal role ensures that our stores and online channels receive the right stock, in the right place, at the right time. Using our in-house allocation system, you will help maintain optimal stock levels and support the wider team in delivering a strong trading performance. You will also develop effective relationships with stores, suppliers, and area management teams—becoming a trusted point of contact for daily queries. This role offers an exceptional entry point into the world of Buying & Merchandising. With full training provided and clear pathways for progression, it represents an outstanding opportunity for a candidate with strong numerical and communication skills who is eager to build a rewarding career in the retail industry.

Key Responsibilities as an Allocator:

  • Support the Buying and Merchandising teams with stock movement, forecasting, and trading strategies
  • Utilise the Allocation and Replenishment system to:
  • Set stock levels for stores
  • Allocate new product lines
  • Monitor replenishment activity
  • Implement price changes
  • Raise store orders
  • Communicate professionally with Stores and Suppliers to ensure a smooth stock flow
  • Complete accurate data entry to maintain system integrity
  • Assist with the implementation of Range and Space Plans
  • Skills & Attributes:
