About You
- You must have a full UK driver’s licence (car), held for a minimum of one year, with no more than 3 penalty points. Proof of this will be required.
- You must have at least two years driving experience. This does not need to be UK driving experience.
- Successful candidates will have the ability and desire to work safely, be flexible and deliver customer service excellence.
- You will have strong concentration and communication skills.
About The Role
The main purpose of your role will be to operate trams in service between Edinburgh Airport and Newhaven. You will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient and customer focused experience. When on ‘spare’ duties, you may also be expected to carry out other tasks out with your normal core role.
During Training, candidates will be required to be flexible around the hours they work, please note that may include working nightshifts. You will learn to drive trams in and around the depot or between the depot and Edinburgh Airport and Newhaven.
After Training, you will deliver a service to the travelling public, working either an early, mid or late shift driving trams to a timetable. This will be on average 40 hours a week, over 7 calendar days over 364 days a year, our current only closure day is Christmas Day. Shifts will start as early as 0415 and finish as late as 0112.
