Are you looking for a rewarding summer role at Edinburgh Napier University? Join our Student Accommodation Conference & Lettings team and help support our busy summer operations. Our city-centre student residences welcome a diverse mix of Language Schools, holidaymakers, Festival and Fringe performers, conference guests, and family groups from across the world. We are recruiting several Vacation Letting Assistants to help ensure the smooth running of our summer letting programme. You will be expected in this role to provide cover at each of the developments open during the summer. Some knowledge of Edinburgh Napier's flat developments would be an advantage. This is a live-in role, and on-site accommodation is provided rent-free for the duration of the contract. A rotating rota will be issued in advance which will include pre-set holiday dates scheduled in advance to meet business needs.

What You Will Do

  • Assisting with end-of-lease activities, including removing excess items from flats and supporting cleaning checks.
  • Preparing the accommodation for the summer season moving equipment, stores, bedding and materials from storage into flats, and supporting the end-of-season draw-down.
  • Liaising with the laundry provider, ensuring timely uplift and delivery of all bed linen, and preparing bedding packs for guest arrivals.
  • Welcoming visitors, issuing and retrieving keys, providing essential flat information, and acting as the first point of contact for local queries.
  • Collaborating effectively with University teams including Security, Conference & Lettings, Maintenance, and Finance.
  • Supporting contractors with pre-planned maintenance work and ensuring activities are scheduled around cleaning and guest arrivals.
  • Carrying out cleaning and bed‑making tasks as required to meet operational needs.

  • We're seeking proactive individuals who can help create a welcoming and well‑organised summer accommodation experience.
  • You Will Need To:
    • Be flexible – weekend work is essential and rotas will be provided in advance, including pre-scheduled holiday dates.
    • Enjoy interacting and communicating with people from a variety of backgrounds.
    • Be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
    • Be prepared for physically demanding work during set-up and draw-down phases.
    • Have strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills (e.g., reception or front‑facing experience).

Additional Information

  • Salary: £24,479 calculated pro rata
  • Interviews Week commencing 23rd March at our Bainfield site
  • The University is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role on the Skilled Worker visa route. International applicants will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
