We’re seeking an experienced and capable Management Accountant who brings strong management accounting expertise and is keen to continue developing while making a real and visible contribution to the day-to-day activity of a busy finance team. You’ll be confident taking ownership of your portfolio, working proactively with stakeholders and ensuring the effective delivery of core financial activities.
About the Role
The role is based within the Finance Business Partnering / Financial Reporting Team, where you will provide comprehensive day-to-day financial support to a range of service areas across the University. This includes responsibility for the preparation of management accounts and associated financial reports, alongside supporting broader financial management and reporting requirements. Working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders, this role offers significant exposure to different parts of the University and the opportunity to gain valuable breadth of experience in a complex organisation. The variety of work will support the continued development of your technical skills, commercial awareness and ability to add value through financial insight.
What we will need from you
- You must have Part Qualified Accountant qualifications.
- Ability to apply analytical skills and provide financial insight beyond the traditional functions of finance and to bring them to bear on a broad range of organisational issues.
- Excellent financial project management and time management skills as well as creative thinking are essential for this role.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Experience in managing and delivering financial project objectives.
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- A keen team player with strong technical skills within management accounting and analysis.
- Results-oriented and focused on delivering on time with accuracy.
