Role
We are currently recruiting a part‑time Lecturer in Creative Writing to join the team at our Merchiston Campus on a fixed‑term, 12‑month basis. The position will focus on teaching postgraduate students in creative writing, and involves designing and delivering student‑centred teaching and learning with an emphasis on career development for emerging writers of commercial genres.
You will develop the University's existing teaching and research specialisms, collaborate with stakeholders and foster cross‑disciplinary working across the University and beyond.
What We Need From You
- Postgraduate or Undergraduate degree, demonstrable subject expertise in the area along with relevant practice experience in the field
- A professional publication record of recent, relevant commercial genre fiction
- Relevant teaching experience and evidence of a professional academic profile alongside a commitment to sustained continuous professional development
- A scholarly interest in developing innovative narrative practice
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A Masters‑level or higher qualification in a relevant discipline
