We are currently seeking various School Support Administrators to join within our School Support Service at Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland's #1 Modern University. At the heart of our university sits our School Support Service. Pertinent to both the day-to-day organisation of our Schools and our work into diverse and exciting research and projects; our School Support Service delivers flexible and resilient support to students and academic staff across the University. Simply put, through excellent service, we anticipate users' needs and deliver support services that are efficient, accessible and intuitive to our users.
The Role
SSAs are intended to operate broadly interchangeably and flexibly as support requirements demand, in order to deliver an efficient and resilient local service to academic areas. SSAs also work closely with other relevant staff (academic and non-academic) to ensure all School activities and priorities are supported coherently and appropriately to meet the University Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for general queries from colleagues and students regarding modules and programmes, whilst signposting other services.
- Provide professional advice and support to students and academic staff.
- Administration tasks relating to marks submission including preparation of board papers.
- Support student induction, Welcome Week calendars and open days.
- Provide administration support for module selection and enrolment.
- Process student change of circumstances requests, such as suspensions of study, withdrawal and transfers.
- Supporting major student focussed activities such as induction and registration, examinations and graduation.
- Supporting student records work, including responding to student queries through our records shop.
- Maintenance of appropriate databases including academic and student records; records management.
- Providing general support to the School Support Service department.
- Administrative support of the Provision and Module Approval processes in line with the Quality framework.
- Committee servicing support including Quality and Curriculum Management and Student Experience committees.
- Supporting routine monitoring and maintenance of records for reviews and accreditation activities.
- Recruitment and administration of External Examiners.
What We Are Looking For
- Higher Grade qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Prior Administrative Experience In Further Or Higher Education Preferred.
- Good IT skills including experience of Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with colleagues and academic staff.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn.

Salary: £26,093 - £31,236 per annum. Interviews: Week of 9th of Feb - 9th and 10th Feb (TBC). Please note that these interviews will be conducted on our Craiglockhart campus, face to face. The University is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role on the Skilled Worker visa route. International applicants will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
