An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Content Executive to join the Marketing team at Edinburgh Napier University at a critical time for its digital and student recruitment activity. This 24‑month fixed‑term role will be key to the creation, launch and ongoing development of a major new marketing microsite, followed by significant involvement in the larger University website transformation project. The role will focus on creating, updating, optimising and migrating high‑quality content that supports student recruitment, reputation and engagement in a highly competitive environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across Marketing, the web team, creative partners and external agencies to ensure content is accurate, compelling, user‑focused and searchable from launch through to live.

The Opportunity
As Content Executive, you will play a hands‑on role in delivering content‑heavy web projects, working at pace to support a time‑sensitive microsite launch and the subsequent migration and redevelopment of the University’s main website. The role is heavily focused on web and digital content, from initial planning and creation through to optimisation, migration and ongoing updates. You will help ensure content is clear, engaging, SEO‑ and GEO‑optimised, on brand and compliant, supporting key user journeys and decision‑making points for prospective students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating, editing and maintaining high‑quality content for a temporary microsite from build through launch and live operation.
- Supporting the larger new website project, including content audits, rewriting, optimisation and migration into the new CMS.
- Working closely with web colleagues, designers, creatives and external partners to deliver user‑focused content.
- Updating and improving existing website content, including course and campaign‑related pages.
- Ensuring content is accurate, accessible, on brand and aligned with governance standards.
- Using insight, analytics and best practice to continuously improve content performance.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a creative and organised content professional with strong writing skills, a good eye for detail and an interest in digital and web‑based content. Applicants must demonstrate:
- Excellent written communication skills for digital and web channels.
- Experience of structuring and writing content for SEO and GEO.
- Experience of creating, updating or managing content within a Content Management System.
- Experience of managing multiple priorities and working with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- An understanding of how content supports user journeys, SEO and marketing objectives.
- Experience of working on website projects, content migration or large‑scale digital platforms would be particularly beneficial.
Benefits We Offer
41 days annual leave (including public holidays). Access to ongoing professional development opportunities. Salary: £31,236 - £37,694 per annum (depending on experience). Contract: Permanent, Full Time – 35 hours per week. The University is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role on the Skilled Worker visa route. International applicants will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
