BE-ST (Built Environment Smarter Transformation) is a unique, agile and forward-thinking organisation with a clear mission: to tackle climate change by decarbonising the built environment. Our work spans innovation, commercial projects and partnerships across Scotland and internationally, and every story we tell helps accelerate the journey to net zero.
The Digital Communications Coordinator plays a key role in delivering engaging digital content that supports BE-ST's mission to accelerate the transition to a net zero built environment. Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and wider stakeholder engagement team, you'll create and deliver content across social media, websites, newsletters, campaigns and digital media that brings BE-ST's projects, facilities and partnerships to life.
This is a varied and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to work across a wide range of digital activity from storytelling and case studies to campaigns, events and more commercially focused content. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across the organisation to source stories, shape messaging and ensure content is clear, creative and aligned to BE-ST's tone of voice and brand.
While the role covers a broad range of responsibilities, these are delivered as part of a planned programme of work, meaning priorities shift depending on projects and activity. No two days or projects are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, creativity and working with purpose.
What We're Looking For
- A degree or relevant professional experience in digital media, communications or marketing
- Experience creating engaging digital content for websites, social media and online channels
- Strong copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences
- Experience producing a range of content such as blogs, case studies, newsletters and campaign materials
- Confidence using content management systems to update and maintain websites and/or intranets
- Working knowledge of design and video tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro or Canva)
- Experience creating and managing email newsletters, ideally using platforms such as Mailchimp
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
You’ll also bring:
- A creative eye and enthusiasm for digital storytelling
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners
- A proactive, professional approach and willingness to contribute ideas
- An interest in the built environment and sustainability sector (desirable)
What's in it for you?

- Employer pension contributions of 17.6%
- A wide range of learning and development opportunities
- Access to our benefits platform Vivup which includes a huge range of discounts across the UK's major retailers, health care discounts and Cycle to Work
