The Property & Facilities team at Edinburgh Napier University brings together expertise across a range of essential areas, including estate management, sustainability, facilities services, security, cleaning, logistics, print, catering, conference management, and student accommodation.

Our Asset Management team oversee building maintenance, space allocation, and long-term planning for renovations or new projects. As part of this team, we are now recruiting for the recently created role of Building Systems Engineer, who will take responsibility for the optimal performance, reliability, and integration of all Building Management Systems (BMS), lighting controls, electrical infrastructure and other associated systems across the university's portfolio.

As Building Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to use your electrical background and experience of installation and addressing, fault finding and programming of systems, to take responsibility for all associated maintenance programmes for site electrical and building management systems. This post will give you remit to investigate repeated failures/problems/faults and resolve them with the Asset Management team, identifying systems upgrades and managing associated electrical systems installations and upgrades, as well as leading the design and implementation of energy reduction strategies to ensure optimal energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and technical performance in alignment with the University's operational and sustainability goals.
