We are now looking for a School Quality & Accreditation Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting our academic Schools and ensuring the highest standards across our curriculum, quality and accreditation processes.

This is a key operational leadership role within our School Support Service, where you will oversee the delivery of high-quality support across all our quality, accreditation and curriculum development activities. You will work closely with academic colleagues, professional services and senior stakeholders to ensure our data is accurate, and the processes are efficient, consistent and aligned with the University’s strategic ambitions. You will liaise with Professional Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs) to support accreditation activities and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.

In this role, you will lead the day-to-day operational delivery of curriculum, quality and accreditation support for one or more academic Schools, ensuring activities run smoothly and in line with university and School priorities. You will oversee programme approvals and reviews; provision monitoring processes; and have responsibility for planning in relation to all School Quality and Accreditation processes, working closely with the School Academic Lead for Quality. You will work with senior professional service colleagues, advising as appropriate, to ensure resource allocation is aligned with team and school objectives.

Lead and develop a team of School Support staff, working alongside other managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, while building strong relationships across the University to enhance consistency, effectiveness and alignment with learning, teaching and quality frameworks. As part of the role, you will be expected to monitor and integrate data and present findings. In addition, you will develop and monitor action plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas where further targeted action may be required. You will also, working with academic colleagues, oversee a framework for gathering and analysing feedback on satisfaction and developing measures to inform continuous evaluation and service improvement based on best practice.

Essential

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience gained in a similar role.
  • Experience supporting quality/accreditation frameworks or similar in another sector context.
  • Experience of leading teams and delivering services to agreed standards and deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience of driving service improvement.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.

Desirable

  • Experience within Higher Education or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Experience of fostering empowerment and innovation within support teams.

Additional information:

  • Salary: Starting salary - £37,694 per annum (with an automatic pay progression towards the top of the scale i.e. £46,049).
  • Contract: Permanent, Full Time 35 hrs/wk, hybrid working with 2-3 days on campus.
  • Interviews: Week commencing 22nd of June at Craiglockhart campus.
  • On this occasion, the University will not consider applicants requiring sponsorship or visa support for this role. International applicants will therefore only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
