Dive Coach JD
Salary - £26,676 per annum (pro rata for part-time, £14.35 per hour)
Hours - Part-time, 24 hours per week
Contract - Temporary until 30 April 2027
Location - Royal Commonwealth Pool
Join the team at our iconic Royal Commonwealth Pool, Scotland’s only 10m diving venue and home to the country’s biggest diving programme.
As an experienced diving coach, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging classes and encouraging participants to achieve the maximum potential for their individual needs and abilities. You will be enthusiastic about delivering sessions that are specifically designed for all ages, in line with our standards, leading to exceptional customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
- Lead fun, engaging classes in a safe environment, assessing each participant’s individual needs and abilities to maximise their enjoyment, performance and progression.
- Provide ongoing feedback and encouragement to participants, helping them achieve personal bests and build confidence through tailored coaching.
- Communicate openly and adaptably with participants of all ages and abilities, using creative methods to foster trust, enthusiasm and great customer experiences.
- Work closely with your team and Sports Co-ordinator to plan sessions, prepare equipment safely, and review class quality and engagement.
What You’ll Bring
- SSCQ Diving or ASA/UKCC Level 2 Diving Coach qualification, or equivalent.
- A current RLSS UK NPLQ or equivalent, or with willingness to gain the NPLQ within 3 months of starting.
- Experience coaching in a sports, leisure or community setting.
- A good understanding of safe coaching practice, including setting up, checking and storing equipment correctly.
- The ability to assess participants’ needs, adapt sessions, manage behaviour positively and help people progress at their own pace.
- Clear, adaptable communication skills and the ability to support participants of different ages, abilities and backgrounds.
- Energy, patience and enthusiasm for helping participants feel safe, confident and motivated
