Role Purpose
As Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager in the day to day operation of the Edinburgh store. You will help deliver outstanding customer service, drive store performance including sales, conversion and average transaction value, develop and motivate the team, and ensure the store environment reflects the luxury status and heritage of the brand. This is a 38 hour role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in planning and delivering store business objectives including sales targets and KPIs.
- Lead, coach and develop retail team members to deliver high level customer service aligned with the brand’s standards.
- Maintain and elevate the luxury retail experience by ensuring store presentation, visual merchandising and customer environment are first class.
- Act as a role model on the sales floor by engaging with customers, building client relationships and confidently delivering the brand story, heritage and craftsmanship.
- Monitor stock levels, inventory accuracy and back office operations, ensuring compliance with internal processes.
- Implement clienteling strategies, building knowledge of regular customers to drive loyalty and repeat business.
- Support recruitment, training, performance reviews, talent spotting and retention.
- Provide cover for the Store Manager when required, including opening and closing duties and shift leadership.
- Ensure brand standards, health and safety and compliance requirements are consistently upheld.
- Liaise with head office and regional retail leadership to support campaigns, product launches and store initiatives.
Person Specification
- Previous experience within a luxury retail environment, ideally in an Assistant Manager or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, set standards and lead by example.
- Commercial awareness with a solid understanding of sales metrics and performance drivers.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable client experiences.
- Confidence engaging with high end clientele and building long term relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
- A genuine interest in luxury retail, brand heritage and craftsmanship.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
- Experience within a textile or fashion brand, or knowledge of luxury fibres such as cashmere or wool.
- Client and customer relationship management experience.
- Visual merchandising or store presentation experience.
- Experience mentoring or coaching team members and supporting internal development.
