A well-established engineering business is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development and delivery of technically complex engineered systems and equipment. This is a hands-on engineering role that would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, performing engineering calculations and working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting projects from concept through to delivery, providing technical expertise across mechanical design, analysis, documentation and problem solving.
The Role
- Provide mechanical engineering support across a range of complex engineering projects
- Act as a key technical point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders
- Produce and review engineering calculations, technical documentation and reports
- Support the development and improvement of engineered products and systems
- Work closely with design, manufacturing and operational teams to ensure engineering requirements are achieved
- Identify, investigate and resolve technical and engineering challenges
- Assist with the preparation of technical procedures, proposals and engineering documentation
- Participate in project and customer meetings when required
- Maintain accurate engineering records and ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and procedures
About You
You could come from a variety of sectors including heavy engineering, industrial equipment, manufacturing, energy, subsea, process industries, rotating equipment or other mechanically focused engineering environments. You will likely have:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience within a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer position
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Experience producing engineering calculations and technical reports
- Experience using 3D CAD software
- The ability to solve complex engineering problems using first-principles engineering approaches
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and multidisciplinary teams
- A proactive and practical approach to engineering challenges
