Senior Quantity Surveyor Senior Quantity Surveyor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure, roads, earthworks and utilities projects across Scotland.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining excellent commercial controls.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial delivery of multiple civil engineering projects.
- Prepare, monitor and maintain project budgets and cost forecasts.
- Produce monthly cost reports and commercial performance reviews.
- Prepare applications for payment and client valuations.
- Manage subcontract procurement, negotiations and contract administration.
- Assess and agree subcontractor applications and final accounts.
- Identify, value and negotiate variations and compensation events.
- Ensure compliance with NEC and other standard forms of contract.
- Work closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability.
- Monitor project risks and implement effective commercial controls.
- Attend client meetings and provide commercial advice throughout project delivery.
- Mentor junior members of the commercial team.
Requirements Essential
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience managing infrastructure, highways, utilities or renewable energy projects.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and financial reporting abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying.
- Membership of RICS or working towards chartership.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
