As our kitchen assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our care homes kitchen.

Joining us at Milngavie Manor, our care home that provides residential, dementia, and nursing care for older people, you'll be part of a passionate team focused on the health and well-being of our residents.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high‑quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents.
• Planning, preparing and serving balanced meals that meet dietary requirements.
• Ensuring all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and that safe methods of work are always used.
• Managing all stocks and stores, ensuring food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place.
• Maintaining accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirements such as fridge temperature checks.

• Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Committed to customer care and first‑class service provision.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.
• Empathy and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our residents.
• Ability to multi‑task, work under pressure and on own initiative in a fast‑paced environment.
• A willingness to share our values and demonstrate them at all times – a “Can‑Do” flexible team worker, problem‑fixer with a passion for what they do, ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload, think outside the box, and be open to doing things differently.
