Darcy Brook Procurement & Supply are looking to recruit a Senior Construction Buyer for a leading company based in London.

Experience of sourcing electrical and mechanical for construction projects is highly desirable.

Other construction materials will be considered.

The Role

  • Sending RFQ's to suppliers and generating cost sheets to return to sales
  • Overseeing the creation of necessary technical documents and datasheets, working closely with the internal QA team to ensure all documentation submitted is correct.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure quoted products meet project specification.
  • Sourcing & Strategy: Identify and evaluate suppliers for various suppliers
  • Obtaining test reports for project specific orders.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times with manufacturers and distributors to maximize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Negotiate MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities) and costs to ensure the project is profitable.
  • Logistics and Order Progressing: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials to sites/warehouses.
  • Key Skills
  • Analytical Skills: Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse market trends
  • Communication: Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to explain technical delays to project managers.
  • Organisation: Ability to manage the critical path from enquiry/RFQ to delivery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable communicating with stakeholders of all levels
  • IT Literate. Confident using Microsoft Office programmes
