- Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00 (30‑minute unpaid break)

About the Role
We are currently recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a dedicated team delivering high‑quality grounds maintenance services across multiple school locations. This is a hands‑on, varied role suited to someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys working outdoors as part of a team. Although based in Inverkeithing (KY11), you will be part of a mobile grounds maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- General grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and clearance of leaves and litter
- Setting out, maintaining, and lining sports pitches (grass and tarmac)
- Maintenance of artificial and synthetic pitches
- Horticultural duties such as planting, pruning, and seeding
- Tree care activities
- Erecting and dismantling equipment
- Painting and maintenance of equipment
- Carrying out minor civil works (e.g. repairs to slabs, kerbs, manholes, and surfaces)
- Operating light plant and powered tools
- Daily checks of vehicles, tractors, and cutting equipment
- Seasonal duties including gritting and snow clearance (weather dependent)
Candidate Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (trailer towing experience advantageous)
- Experience using ride‑on mowers
- Experience using strimmers and small grounds maintenance machinery
- General experience in grounds maintenance operations
- Basic knowledge of gardening and horticultural practices
- Competent in operating light plant and small equipment
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH
- Ability to pass PVG clearance
- A reliable, flexible team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to health and safety
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
- PA1 & PA6 (Pesticides) certification
- Experience in sports pitch marking and lining
