Their integrated approach combines technical due diligence, compliance, certification, commissioning, and engineering design, enabling rapid problem identification and solution implementation. This streamlined process reduces contact points, saves time, and minimizes risks. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer or Senior to join their Glasgow or Edinburgh office. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer to become more well-rounded and commercially aware, working with Building Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors on innovative solutions across sectors such as commercial, industrial, defense, and healthcare. Projects vary from small surveys to large office fit-outs, typically small to medium-sized.

Role

  • Understanding project briefs and designing/specifying all Electrical Building Services systems.
  • Designing and specifying electrical systems including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection, etc.
  • Producing detailed calculations using industry-standard software like Excel, Dialux, Amtech, and in-house tools, either independently or managing others.
  • Representing the organization at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring site works.
  • Writing reports and technical notes.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records and archives according to company standards.
  • Adhering to quality, environmental, and governance processes.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with CIBSE or IET is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a design consultancy or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical design in the built environment.
  • Strong report writing skills and experience presenting to clients.
  • Detailed knowledge of technical standards and the ability to manage project deliverables and make independent decisions.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and software relevant to electrical design.
