We are looking for a System Test Engineer to join an Edinburgh based Electronics manufacturer. In this role, you will work on multi-device networked systems, testing how hardware, firmware, software, and network components perform together as one complete ecosystem. This is a 6-month contract based in Edinburgh, with a good possibility for extension or permanent position. Rate: £35 - £45ph - outside IR35.
Responsibilities:
- System-level test of interconnected devices focused on end-to-end (E2E) functionality and interoperability.
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans and cases for complex ecosystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate innovative testing strategies.
- Utilize state-of-the-art lab tools to validate hardware/software interoperability.
- Perform manual and automated testing, including regression, performance, and integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in live environments.
Requirements:
- Extensive and proven recent and relevant experience in system testing of interconnected hardware, software, and firmware systems.
- Solid expertise in identifying customer-impacting defects, and advanced knowledge of software and hardware interoperability issues and solutions.
- In-depth understanding of architectures, protocols, and integrations within Audio Electronics / Communications beneficial.
- Hands-on experience with C, C++, Python, and scripting for automation beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and clear communication.
