Escape Recruitment are recruiting for a Stores & Purchasing Coordinator to join a growing manufacturing business. This is a varied, hands-on role combining stores management, stock control, purchasing and expediting activities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring materials and consumables are available to support production while maintaining accurate inventory records and efficient stores operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the engineering stores
- Process goods inwards and goods outwards activities
- Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counting and stock control activities
- Support production through effective materials management and production kitting
- Place purchase orders for MRO items, consumables, tools and PPE
- Expedite supplier deliveries and follow up on outstanding orders
- Liaise with suppliers regarding availability, lead times and delivery schedules
- Monitor stock levels and support replenishment activities
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and support 5S initiatives
- Operate forklift trucks safely to move materials and goods around site
Experience and Knowledge required for the role
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
- Experience in stores, inventory, materials or warehouse operations
- Exposure to purchasing, expediting or procurement support activities
- Strong stock control and cycle counting experience
- Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Comfortable using ERP, MRP or inventory management systems
- Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance) preferred
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
