About the role

The Contracts Manager will lead the successfully delivery of our contracted requirements by developing productive client relationships and expanding the scope of work being delivered to sustainably grow our business.

As a Contracts Manager you will be responsible for ?

  • Safety leadership Continuous development of the safety culture within our direct workforce and supply chain, along with our overall approach to health and safety management on contracts.

Ensuring works are delivered to the highest possible safety standards.

  • Ensuring all contractual obligations are delivered in a safe and efficient manner
  • Delivering excellence in customer service, delivering all client customer KPI s
  • Quality of service across all aspects of our work, including ensuring that a professional image is upheld
  • Management and development of client relationships at all levels in the client business
  • Understanding the client s business, developing the scope of what we offer growing revenues in a sustainable manner
  • Keeping a well engaged and motivated workforce
  • Developing the workforce so we can deliver now and in the future
  • Hold high standards and promote the ipsum way of service throughout the business

About you

  • A degree qualification in Engineering, Business management, Project management or related
  • Practical experience in contract management or relevant studies (desirable)
  • Previous experience working in an operational role on HV/EHV power distribution (overhead and underground circuits).
  • Previous experience delivering work that requires activities like: deep excavation, temporary works, cable installation, cable jointing, wood pole line construction and dismantlement, engaging with stakeholders including: EA, Network Rail, Cadent Gas, private landowners and occupiers
  • Specific knowledge of how DNO networks operate.
  • Solid and up to date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation, and technical advances (e. g. what decarbonisation means for power distribution network).
  • Good knowledge of health and safety practice and effective risk controls
  • Commercial / contractual awareness including forms of contract like NEC
  • Experience managing sub-contractors from safety, compliance and commercial perspectives
  • Be part of the senior leadership team for the Ipsum power division and contribute to and support the overall growth strategy
  • Running an efficient operation and strengthening bottom line performance
